PAUL PASCUZZI

GENERAL MANAGER

Paul has been with OHO since 2018, starting first as the Business and Operations Manager before becoming the General Manager in 2019. Prior to his time at OHO, Paul spent the several years working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in various roles, including ABA services, IBI services and providing social skills training to those in need.

Pascuzzi had been a head coach at the minor hockey level since 2010, most recently with the Clarington Midget AAA team from 2016-2018 after spending six seasons as a head coach within the Whitby Minor Hockey Association. In Clarington, Pascuzzi was also the head of coach and player development for the 2017-2018 season.

PAT LENEHAN

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, HEAD COACH, U18 PREP

Pat has been with OHO since 2021 and is entering his 2nd season as the Head Coach of OHO’s U18 Prep team. With 21 seasons of coaching hockey in the Durham Region, Pat’s experience covers various age groups and levels. Prior to joining OHO, Lenehan had a successful tenure with Clarington’s U18 AAA program, winning an OMHA Silver medal and an OHF Bronze medal in his three seasons as Assistant Coach with the club.

Pat’s coaching style places emphasis on both player and personal development, whether on or off the ice, through trust, accountability, and communication. Lenehan has helped advance many defensemen into Major Junior and Junior A opportunities.

Nate Bedford

HEAD COACH, U16 PREP

Joining OHA in 2023, Nate brings over two decades of coaching and athletic administration experience to OHO. Bedford’s extensive hockey background includes for 8 years as a coach in in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). As a Sports Development Manager and Men’s Hockey Coach at Keyano College (of the CCAA), Nate demonstrated his prowess in nurturing players’ growth both on and off the ice. In addition to his time in the CCAA, Bedford led the Battleford North Stars of the SJHL to victory in 2017.

Off the ice, Bedford’s experience includes over 5-years managing Sports and Recreation programs at the community and college levels, with tenures as Program & Events Manager in Fort McMurray and Director of Athletics and Recreation at Portage College.

Bedford’s dedication to fostering a team centric environment and guiding players to excel aligns seamlessly with the core values of Okanagan Hockey Ontario.

MATT BEECH

HEAD COACH, U15 PREP

Beech joins OHO for the 2024-2025 season with over a decade of experience in hockey instruction and player development. Matt brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for guiding young athletes both on and off the ice.

For the past 10 years, Matt has served as the Head Instructor for Elite Hockey Consults, where he has honed his coaching skills and made a significant impact on countless players’ growth. Additionally, as the founder and owner of Matt Beech Hockey (DMH) for over 7 years, Matt has been instrumental in developing hockey talent in the Durham Region.

His coaching journey includes stints with renowned organizations such as the Don Mills Flyers AAA, Clarington Zone AAA, Pickering Panthers AA, Ajax Pickering Raiders, Markham Waxers AAA, and Oshawa Lady Generals. Matt’s dedication to the sport and his commitment to helping individuals reach their full potential is evident in his coaching philosophy.

OWEN MATTHEWS

ASSISTANT COACH, U18 PREP

Matthews expands his coaching resume here at OHO after playing seven seasons with the Central Ontario Wolves AAA, before finishing his playing career as a member of the Port Perry Mojacks of the CJPHL. Owen spent time as an Assistant Coach with the North Durham Warriors, as well as a Head Coach for the Varsity Boys Hockey Team at Port Perry High School.

Currently, Matthews is also working as a Volunteer Firefighter in the Township of Scugog, after graduating from Durham College in November of 2020.

JONATHAN HILL

ASSISTANT COACH, U18 pREP

Jon spent his minor hockey days playing for the Whitby minor hockey organization before playing for the Brockville Braves Jr A program in the CCHL. From there, went on to play 4 years at Niagara University DI hockey team- while serving as an assistant captain in his senior year, and graduating with a degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Jon spent last season as an assistant coach with the U18 OHO program, and is continuing to do so for the 2023-24 season

TODD COLLINS

ASSISTANT COACH, u15 PREP

Todd’s first introduction to OHO was as the Head Coach of the Okanagan Hockey Prospects Spring team. Collins ran our OHO Skills Academy before transitioning to the U15 Prep team. Todd also acts as the OHO Camps Coordinator. Todd brings many years of coaching experience to OHO, from minor hockey through to the junior levels.

MIKE DUCO

Player DEVELOPMENT COACH

Duco is also the Skill Development Coach for the Pickering Panthers Jr. A team. Previously, Duco was an assistant coach for the Peterborough Petes of the OHL during the 2017-18 season after serving as a head coach with the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals the previous season. On top of his duties with the Petes, he also was involved with the Peterborough Minor Hockey Association as a skills development coach and player evaluator.

The Toronto, Ont. product enjoyed an extensive nine-year professional playing career that saw him play 18 games in the NHL with the Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks, 267 games in the AHL, as well as time spent in the ECHL and Europe. Duco played parts of five seasons in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers, where he was part of the 2008 J. Ross Robertson Cup winning team as OHL champions.

MATTHEW BOURGEOIS

HEAD GOALTENDING COACH

Matthew has been a High Performance (HP1) Certified Coach and Goalie Development Presenter since July 2012. Having previously served as an Assistant/Goalie Coach with both Ontario Tech University Varsity Men’s Hockey and Canisius College NCAA Men’s Hockey, Matthew’s responsibilities included advanced scouting, player development, and strategic planning.

In 2017 Matthew worked with SECA Worldwide China, and was involved in program development, player representation, and talent acquisition underscoring his dedication to advancing the sport’s presence in the region. From 2015-2017. Matthew’s expertise excelled as he served as Goaltending Coach for the Chinese National Women’s Hockey Team. His role encompassed advanced scouting, designing personalized goalie development programs, and providing insightful game evaluations. 

JAIME MEDRANDA

HEAD ATHLETIC THERAPIST

Jaime completed his Bachelor of Science majoring in Kinesiology & Health Sciences and attained his Certificate of Athletic Therapy at York University in 2021. Shortly after becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist, Jaime joined OHO that same year and became the Head Athletic Therapist in 2023.

Medranda has over 5 years of experience working with athletes at the collegiate level. Jaime is currently pursuing his Registered Massage Therapist license to further increase his education and effectiveness as a therapist.

SEAN HARRISON

ELITE TRAINING SYSTEMS – STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Sean Harrison has had an extensive career in the field of Strength and Conditioning having worked with professional and amateur athletes (NHL, AHL, OHL, NCAA, NFL, CFL, NLL, MLR, UFC, Olympic Athletes) for over 13 years. Currently the Director of Performance for Elite Training Systems and Professional Rugby Team Toronto Arrows of the MLR, Sean oversees all program components relating to High Performance and Long Term Athlete Development. We are pleased to have Sean return for his 4th year with the OHO program, providing expertise within his specialized field.

MARK FITZGERALD

HUMAN PERFORMANCE CONSULTANT

Mark Fitzgerald has spent the last 15 years working with athletes from a variety of sports at every level. He began his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and also became the Head of Performance and Nutrition for the Canadian Hockey League. Most recently, Fitzgerald was the Head of Performance for the Anaheim Ducks. Fitzgerald is the founder of Elite Training Systems in Ontario, which has grown to four locations servicing athletes from all major and minor sports. Fitzgerald also serves as a consultant for a number of health and performance organizations including Under Armour, CHL, Ontario Tech University, and Toronto Aeros Rugby.
