What is your Summer Camp 2022 / 2023 Cancellation Policy?
Camp Cancelled
Any person registered in an Okanagan Hockey Camp that is cancelled by Okanagan Hockey Group will receive a full refund. Refunds will be processed back to original forms of payment.
Customer Cancelled Camps
Customers may cancel any summer camp up to 11:59PM on May 15, 2023 and will receive a full refund less a $75 administrative fee per camp. Refunds can only be processed back to the original form of payment.
*Camps cancelled after May 15, 2023 are not eligible for any refund or credits. There are no exceptions. We understand things happen, but credits and refunds will not be processed after May 15th. Third party refund insurance is available at the time of online registrations.
INSURANCE
Customers do have the option to register online and purchase Refund Insurance offered by Active Networks which will provide cancellation coverage up until 2 days before the camp starts. Cancellation insurance is ONLY available when you register online. It is offered through a third party and allows you to cancel your registration at any time BEFORE your camp session begins, without any financial penalty; this covers illness or injury. If you cancel part way through your camp session, this insurance allows you to receive a partial refund.
Flex 90 Plan
Customers who register prior to January 31st, 2023 will have the option to defer their camp at no charge to a 2024 camp up until June 30th, 2023. Registrations made within the Flex 90 time frame are still bound by the May 15th, 2023 Cancellation date for refunds.

What age groups do you offer?
From little tykes to advanced teenagers, Okanagan Hockey camps are structured to fit the needs of a variety of ages; starting from the grass-roots. If your child is interested in experimenting with hockey, our Learn-to-play Camp (Ages 4-6) is a camp designed to engage young children in a fun and encouraging environment, and get them excited about the game of hockey!

What locations do you offer summer camps?
Okanagan Hockey offers summer camps in Penticton, Calgary, Kelowna and Edmonton. Each location offers a variety of specialized camps to help youth grow and develop during the off season. Click on our “Camp descriptions” to see what camp is a best suited for you!
What skill levels do you offer?
From beginners to advanced players, Okanagan Hockey camps are structured to fit the needs of a variety of skill levels; starting from the grass-roots. All of our coaches are trained professionals, and are able to adapt their coaching techniques around various levels of skill.
*Note: Basic skating skills are required!
Do you offer goalie specific camps?
Yes! Our goalie camps provide goalies with the latest in current teaching and training techniques from professional goalie instructors.
Do you have female only camps?
We offer female only camps in Penticton, BC! Almost all of our camps are co-ed and we strongly encourage females to register! We aspire to empower girls and women in sport, and help them to develop within the game of hockey
Can I change camps?
You can transfer camps free of charge, however, transfers are subject to availability. You can transfer camps ONLY if there is space available in the camp you wish to switch into. Our camp registration operates on a first come first serve basis.
Can my player play up a level?
We ask that parents register their player in the correct age group. We strive to satisfy 100% of our participating families. All of our camps and programs are designed specifically for the allotted age groups and camp formats. In order to execute our programs as intended, we must maintain appropriate age groups.
Exception: OHG reserves the right to find the best camp fit for our participants. After the first day in camp, if you feel your player is too strong for the camp, go see the camp co-ordinator directly (introduced during welcome orientation). We can set-up an evaluation, and if approved by OHG, find a better camp fit.
How do I choose the right camp for my player?
We have a full range of camp offerings for goalies and skaters from ages 4 to 17 years old. Take some time to review our camp descriptions page. You will find videos, camp descriptions, camp deliverables, sample schedules, and location offerings for all camps.
Can’t decide which location to go to?
You can also choose your camp by desired location:
Penticton, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton
If you have attended our camps before, we suggest that you look back at your child’s evaluation, to see which camp was recommended by their coach!

How much ice time do players get?
Please refer to the camp description for more details on the ice time for your particular camp.
What is the player to Instructor ratio?
All of our instructors here at Okanagan Hockey have extensive hockey backgrounds that include playing, coaching, training, and teaching.
Ratio- Skaters : Minimum Instructors
Learn-to-play – 5:1 instructor ratio.
All other camps – 7:1 instructor ratio.
Goalie camps – 3:1 instructor ratio.
Do you have camps for beginners?
Yes! We all need to start somewhere! Here at Okanagan Hockey, we welcome everyone, as our instructors are able to adapt to various skill levels in order to provide clear instruction. Each instructor has their own coaching style and utilizes their expertise to teach in a fun way; to help beginners better understand the fundamental skills of the game!
We have two entry level camps:
Learn-To-Play (Ages five to 7-year-olds)
3S Camp Skater (Ages six to 8-year-olds)
Do you have camps that teach contact?
Interested in increasing contact confidence and learning more about checking-angling, situational and spatial awareness? Okanagan Hockey’s Contact and Performance Camp is the camp for you! Once contact is introduced into the game, it is essential to know the proper techniques to protect yourself and to use body contact to your advantage in a safe manner.
How can I register?
You can register online! If you are a new customer, you will be prompted to create an ACTIVE account upon selecting your chosen camp. All payments can be made through your online account via credit card.
If you are a returning customer, please DO NOT create a new account. Your ACTIVE account is still live and allows you to register for your new camp while tracking all previous camps that you have taken part in.

Is there a sibling discount?
Yes! Please register all family members at the same time in order to receive our sibling discount. If you decide to register an additional child after previously registering another, please call 1-888- 844-6611 or email info@okanaganhockey.com to receive your discount!
Do I get a discount for booking more than one camp?
Interested in another camp session!? For the biggest savings, register for your multiple camps at the same time. All discounts are calculated during the final page in your “checkout process” We have sibling discounts, multi-camp discounts, and promotional discounts. All coupon codes are entered during your “checkout process,” discounts are automatically calculated prior to final payment.
What does the registration fee go towards?
At Okanagan Hockey Group, our top camp specialists strive to accommodate all of our customers’ needs by providing outstanding service. The registration fee of $31.50 enables our team to do exactly that! By providing you with the latest in registration technology to guarantee security and peace of mind with your personal information. It also allows us to provide you with ‘no charge’ camp changes and cancellations up to May 1st of each year.
I have a gift certificate, how do I redeem it?
You can redeem your gift certificate online! Use your coupon code at checkout, and the amount listed on your gift certificate will automatically be deducted from your final balance. If you have any further questions please call our camp specialists at 1-888-844-6611 Ext. 3354.
What is the meal plan?
Running late? Can’t get to the grocery store? DON’T WORRY! At each location, Okanagan Hockey Camps offer a meal plan to all families! This is optional, as families who do not wish to receive the meal plan can still provide a packed lunch for their child.
The meal plan includes a snack and a hot lunch every day while your child is at camp. The hot lunch is buffet style and includes a main (i.e., chicken) with a side (i.e., potato wedges) and each meal is served with a salad and fruit snack.
Cost: Varies by location and is an additional cost to camp fees.
Meal plans are available at the time of registration OR prior to the first day of camp.
*Note: All meal plans must be purchased prior to your camp date. If you have already registered, and wish to add on a meal plan, please login to your Active account or call 1-888-844-6611 Ext. 3354. We are unable to add a meal plan to a registration within 48hrs of your start date.
What is the daily schedule?
Schedules vary for each camp. You will be notified when your schedule is posted online, prior to your camp date! Your schedule will be posted on our website by April 1st. Please visit okanaganhockey.com to download a printable PDF of your schedule.
What is included in the off-ice session?
Off-ice sessions are made up of a variety of components that vary based on age and location. If you have any further questions regarding off-ice training, please give us a call at 1-888- 844-6611x 3354 to speak with any one of our camp specialists!
Can I go on a wait-list if my camp is full?
Yes! Our waitlist starts as soon as the camp becomes full. At the beginning of our camp season, kids will move around and switch into different camps that are better suited for them. This often opens up space so that children on the waitlist can join.
*Please note: Just because you are on the waitlist DOES NOT mean that space will come available. Our camp registration operates on a first come first serve basis, so remember to register early to secure your spot!
How do I know if I have been moved off of the wait-list?
Once you have been moved off of the waitlist, you will receive one email and one phone call before we move onto the next customer. Our camp specialists strive to satisfy all of our customers’ needs and must be cautious of our availability within a timely manner.
How do I check in for my camp?
You will check in on Monday morning in front of your assigned rink. Please follow your schedule that has been emailed to you for directions on which rink to check in at.
What do I need to bring to camp?

WHAT TO BRING:
- On-Ice Hockey Equipment and Stick (s) as per Hockey Canada/ USA Hockey.
- Neck guard
- At least 2 sticks
- Thermal underwear and jock
- Hockey socks (knit)
- Sharp skates and hockey socks
- Stick and sock tape
- Water Bottle (we sell them too!)
- Athletic Clothing: T-shirts, shorts, hoody
- Athletic Shoes and sports socks
- Ball Cap
- Sun-screen and additional sun protection are a great idea.
- Please label your belongings!
*JERSEYS WILL BE PROVIDED*
FOOD/ DRINKS & HYDRATION
- If you have purchased the meal program, lunch and snacks will be provided
- If you have not purchased meal program already, you can call in to purchase the program prior to your first day of camp
- Otherwise, please bring your own lunch/snacks
- All camp groups will eat together as a team in the appropriate facilities
- There are multiple water stations on campus to keep your water bottle topped up *(Subject to change due to Covid-19 protocols)
- Remember to keep your water bottle with you for ALL activities
This is a full-day camp with a full daily itinerary. Please come prepared each day with all the necessary equipment, items, and gear to execute all events appropriately.

Where can I get my skates sharpened?
We do not have skate sharpening on the premises. You can get your skates sharpened at Game Time Sports (Penticton) or at Sport Chek.
Can my player bring a phone/device?
Please leave phones and devices at home for safe-keeping! Okanagan Hockey is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. Your player is here to learn, be a leader and make new friends while enjoying a great hockey camp experience! We thank you for your cooperation.
Do we check our child in and out each day?
You do not need to check your child in each day; only on the first day of camp. However, if your child needs to leave early for any reason before their camp day officially ends, then please sign them out. Please make sure that you talk to your child’s camp counselor before leaving the premises.
Is each camp fully supervised on and off the ice?
Yes! At Okanagan Hockey we believe full supervision is extremely important at all times during summer camps. Parents are able to “drop and go” following the outlined counselor check-in/ check-out procedure. Our counselors are trained leaders who lookout for each and every camper on and off the ice. Not only are they supervising throughout the entire camp day, they are more than happy to help with skates and equipment.
Learn to Play, Novice, and Atom parents are more than welcome to be in the dressing room helping prepare their players for the ice. Parents/ families are welcome to stay and view all events throughout the day, except lunch. Parents are not allowed in the lunch room.
