GM PAUL PASCUZZI ANNOUNCES GREG NEMISZ AS DEVELOPMENT COACH

OHO GENERAL MANAGER PAUL PASCUZZI IS PLEASED TO WELCOME GREG NEMISZ AS DEVELOPMENT COACH FOR OKANAGAN HOCKEY ONTARIO

Okanagan Hockey Ontario would like to welcome Greg Nemisz to our team aS Development Coach for our student-athletes. With an impressive background in professional hockey, Greg brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a passion for nurturing the development of young individuals.

Greg is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger with a renowned career that spans both the National Hockey League (NHL) and the American Hockey League (AHL). As a first-round selection by the Calgary Flames in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Greg made his mark with his dedication and determination both on and off the ice.

His playing career saw significant achievements, from winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup with the Windsor Spitfires to being a vital part of Team Canada’s silver medal-winning squad at the 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Greg’s commitment to excellence continued as he transitioned from player to assistant coach with the Oshawa Generals.

Career Highlights:

·       Greg joined the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires in 2006–07, showcasing his skills and earning the team award for dedication and determination.

·       He played a pivotal role in the Spitfires’ back-to-back OHL championships in 2008–09 and 2009–10, also winning the 2009 & 2010 Memorial Cup.

·       Transitioning to the professional level, Greg made his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames in 2011 after an impressive stint with the Abbotsford Heat in the AHL.

Greg’s dedication to hockey extended beyond playing, as he joined the Oshawa Generals as a volunteer video coach during their 2015 championship run. This experience fueled his decision to retire as a player and commit to a full-time role as an assistant coach.

Greg Nemisz brings his wealth of experience and insights to our organization. His role will consist of on-ice development, video review, and a mentorship role for coaches and our student-athletes!  His unique journey, from player to mentor, makes him a valuable asset as he guides our players not only in their athletic pursuits but also in personal growth and development.
