OHA EDMONTON GENERAL MANAGER RANDALL WEBER IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE MATT KEILLOR AS THE 2023-2024 U17 PREP BLACK HEAD COACH.

OHA Edmonton is excited to announce that Matt Keillor will be the Head Coach of our U17 Prep Black team for the 2023-2024 season.

Matt Keillor is an accomplished hockey coach most recently, as the Assistant Coach for the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League (WHL). With over 13 years of coaching experience ranging from U15 AAA to Major Junior, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. He is High Performance 1 certified and holds various hockey certifications, including HC Safety, Checking, HC Respect in Sport Coach, and Safe Spaces certification.

In his recent coaching positions, Matt has made significant contributions to the teams he has worked with. Prior to joining the Swift Current Broncos, he served as the Associate Coach and General Manager for the Drayton Valley Thunder in the AJHL from 2019 to 2021. Before that, he was the Head Coach and Assistant General Manager for the Grande Prairie Storm in the AJHL from 2016 to 2019.

Matt has an extensive coaching and management background, including responsibilities with multiple junior organizations, including his latest position at the WHL level. With coaching experience at the junior levels, Matt is qualified to help our student-athletes develop, and progress to the next level. Matt brings a high-quality level of accountability and experience that falls directly in line with OHA’s development philosophies.” Randall Weber

Throughout his coaching career, Matt has undertaken a range of responsibilities. These include developing strategies for defensemen, overseeing penalty kills and 6-on-5 situations, managing player recruitment and retention, handling HCR duties, trades, and affiliations, as well as video editing for team and individual meetings and development. He also excels in player scouting, daily operations, scheduling, budget management, and organizing camps, invites, and promotional events.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Matt resides in Saskatchewan with his wife Emily, and their 3 children, Coden (13), Payton (9), and Addison (6).
