OHA Penticton’s General Manager, Scott May announces Céline Frappier as the new Assistant Coach of the U18 Female Prep team.

Céline Frappier will join OHA this July as the new Assistant Coach of the U18 Female Prep team. Céline brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record both on and off the ice, making her a fantastic addition to our coaching staff.

Relocating from Tecumseh, Ontario, Céline has recently served as an Assistant Coach for the University of Windsor Women’s Program (2023-24). Her playing career is equally impressive, including time with the Team Canada U Sports FISU Team in 2023, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues from 2020 to 2023, Mercyhurst University NCAA Division 1 from 2016 to 2020, Team Canada U18 Championship Team in 2015-16, Team Ontario U18 National Championship in 2015-16, and the Toronto Jr Aeros PWHL from 2014 to 2016.

In addition to her extensive hockey background, Céline holds a Master of Social Work, with a specialization in Health & Mental Health, a Master of Education in Student Development and Student Services, and a Bachelor of Social Work.

GM, Scott May is excited to add another piece to OHA and our Female program: “Céline has the hockey experience and education that will best provide for our female student-athletes. Over the last several months I have been able to get to know Céline. Her passion, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in helping support and develop all the females in our program, were the key factors that won her the job. She is a leader and role model, which will be a great support for both the U18 Female Prep and U18 Female Prep Black team.”

Céline’s diverse background in high-level competitive play and her extensive academic achievements in social work and education will provide our team with invaluable insights and support. Her experience with national teams and top-tier university programs highlights her dedication and passion for the sport.

Céline is excited to be joining the Okanagan Hockey Academy Penticton U18 Female Prep Team for the 2024/2025 season. “The academy offers countless high-performance resources that help contribute to positive experiences through academics, training facilities and staff that I am honoured to be a part of. Utilizing my vast hockey and educational background I hope to bring valuable insights and knowledge to promote individual development as well as team success. I look forward to working with the next generation of female hockey players and helping them achieve their goals.”
